Dear ENOA by P.J.

First of all I would like to wish all of you a very happy new and may all your wishes come true, also the once you might have that have nothing to do with ENOA !!

In the beginning of the year it is always good to look at the past year, 2006. Which was in my humble opinion a good year for ENOA. With some concrete activities.
First of all we had a contact making seminar in February hosted our dear friends from Olsztynek, Artur, Paulina and Asia. During we had the time to get to know some new associations and persons and gave them at the same time the possibility to get to know ENOA. As some of the concrete outcomes we of course have some new members as well as some project ideas (in Cyprus and Turkey) and the 2007 training course will be hosted by the Slovenian organisation POVOD that was participating in the CMS.
This positive experience provoked the idea of doing more of these kind of opening activities in order to enrich the network with new people and associations.

We also organised our training course in Bulgaria in November on the first step of the “active participation process” (the Erquy process for the insiders) which is the Local Participative Diagnosis. So with this little text I would again like to thank the organisation that hosted us, the organisational support foundation and of course in particular Dessi and Gergana for their non ending efforts, contribution and motivation that help very much to make this training a success (more information you will find elswere)

2006 was also a year of reflection in ENOA, of closing some doors and opening for new challenges. We started to develop the idea of working more with local territories and in link with this the idea of a long term / large scale cooperation was getting developed more and more, and first steps towards the concretisation were taken (and actually are getting very concrete). In 2006 we took some reflection time to start reflecting on the values of the network and some not new but maybe more pronounced accents will be made in the future. More specificly to start working also on the framing of Active Participation into the global challenges of today (globalisation, human rights, environmental issues,…) without losing the contact with the local dimension.

So in my opinion 2006 was a transition year that will allowed ENOA to open itself and to change a bit its direction and approach staying coherent with the basic values. Lets hope that 2007 will just confirm these changes…

Also during 2006 we had some internal changes in the bureau. After 6 years of being responsible for the communication of ENOA, developing all from scratch and keeping members informed keeping all updates and at the same time also contributing to the educational development and working in different teams our dear Alex (Alexandra Geier) has left the bureau !!
By this way in the name of all ENOA I would like to thank you Alex for all the work, energy and parts of yourself you gave to ENOA to make it the ENOA we have today and we all love . We wish you all the best for your new projects, studies, work , family and hope that soon we will be able to meet and work again. Thanks

At the same time I take the opportunity to say also a big thank you to our dear Asia (Johana Rybacka) who also takes a break from being Bureau member (I say takes a break because I am sure one day we will see Asia again during bureau meetings !!), and I would also officially congratulate you with the little Filip Dominic and we wish you all the best.

After the thank you’s I would now like to say welcome to the 2 new bureau members elected in the last general assembly Marian and Paulina !! Congratulations and we wish you a lot of hard working and fun years in the bureau.

So before ending a short view on 2007 would be appropriate.
One thing that I can already officially announce is that the 2007 training course will take place in Ptuj (it is like PJ but with tu in the middle –somebody once remarked-) in Slovenia in September, from 21st till 30th more precisely so mark it already in the agenda’s. The topic will be around supporting youth initiatives and with a focus on the role and place of the youth worker in this AYP process.

And we have taken the first step towards the long term cooperation between territories, meaning that we have applied for a feasibility visit for the end of May, hopefully I will be able to send you soon the good news that it has been approaved.

So with this I leave you and say one more time “happy new year” and we hope that it will bringing you all you wish for (babies, wooden houses, active young people, work opportunities, active members, good communication, English lessons, …)

Good luck,

For the Bureau
